Outer Mission is a small neighborhood on the southern edge of San Francisco. Its name is somewhat confusing as it is a bit removed from the more well-known Inner Mission District. That is not to say it lacks in distinction. Residences are primarily single family, typically with garage space at ground level and living space above. Public transportation is convenient here, with either nearby Balboa Park or Daly City BART stations in walking distance from most residences. Well-marked bike lanes are available on Alemany Boulevard. Nearby Cayuga Park and Playground includes a small baseball field and tennis courts as well as lots of quirky wood statues carved by the park’s former gardener.
